"I started at ALIVE Personal Training in May of 2007, not really knowing what personal training was all about. I was 260 lbs, I was on medication for high blood pressure and had trouble breathing when ever I did any form of exercise. I had been over weight my whole life and was never successful in losing weight, and when I did manage to lose weight I was never able to keep it off. In fact, I always managed to gain back more then what I originally weighed.

Damir has been my trainer for most of my time at ALIVE personal training. He has guided me on how to exercise the properly, and has shown me more about my body, and the way I can push myself to get the results I am looking for. With his efforts, meshed with Kendra's nutrition program, I have lost 60lbs, my blood pressure is now normal, and I no longer have trouble breathing when I work out. I have learned to love exercising, and now understand what "portion control" really means now that I have lost half the weight I want to lose.

ALIVE Personal Training has not only been a support system and an intricate part of my weight loss, but everyone on the ALIVE Team has become very important in my life and mean the world to me…I am really looking forward to the challenges of losing the next 60lbs."

"I originally started losing weight when I began to box back in November of 2007. I lost 10 lbs in 6 months and was dedicated to a new exercise regime. I was happy to have progress with weight loss but was looking for some more significant results. This is when I started to look for a more focused, one-on-one personal training facility. With a little bit of research I found ALIVE Personal Training in March, 2008. I started training with both Ben and Damir three times a week and with the two of them pushing me to my limits, I took off the weight I wanted and needed to loose! After 40lbs had dropped off my new body, like most people losing a lot of weight, I began to plateau. Instead of going back to my old ways of Pizza 73 and golden crispy wings, the ALIVE team continued to encourage me and I intensified my workouts. I started participating in ALIVE's C.U.T.T. classes 3 times a week in addition to my training.

To this day, I am now 10 lbs away from my goal of 200 lbs. ALIVE has helped me lose 60lbs and drop my body fat drastically. I now work for ALIVE and have been keeping the weight off with help from the trainers and the magical nutritionist Kendra! In the future, I plan to drop down to 190-200 lbs with 10% body fat, participate in competitions, and receive my certificate to become a personal trainer."

"Growing up I was always the fat kid.....until I went to University. Then being a poor student I was faced with a choice between drinking beer with my friends or eating.......drinking often won. After eight months of school I lost 100 pounds. That is alot of weight to lose in such a short time, and such an unhealthy way!!!! So in was left with a very out of shape body. A body that I have worked very hard to tone over the past 9 years and despite all efforts my body has refused to change!

In the search for the solution to fix my figure I attended a variety of classes and gyms across Calgary and was continuously disappointed as I hadn't been able to develop any muscle or tighten up at all. This is when I decided to take my exercise regimen to the next level.

In September 2008 I began my search for a personal trainer and found ALIVE. Now five months later I am one of their most dedicated clients. I go to ALIVE 6 days a week and I have personal training sessions 4 of those days. Not because I have too...simply because I want to. The trainers at ALIVE have motivated me to truly love fitness. I have become addicted to the feeling that you have after you work out. The trainers have pushed me to do things that I never would have believed possible...like squatting a weight almost as heavy as me...or doing 110 kettlebell swings and 110 burpees in 12 minutes!!! Of course with this I have gained muscle. It is a slow process but I have been watching my body change. My entire body is becoming more defined, skin and stretch marks from my bigger days are disappearing. On top of that, mentally I am a completely different person. With the help of the trainers at ALIVE I have become a much more confident person. I no longer see the fat girl in the mirror...I now see a fit, happy, healthy and beautiful woman."

"I started training with Alive about 8 months ago. My reasons for joining were to improve my body for self esteem and health. The first 4 months I took for granted. Trained 3 times a week and change my diet, a bit. I was totally convinced that I was training so much that my body needed the extra food. I was just maintaining my current weight. Surprisingly that when I went to the Doctor for my annual check up, I had actually improved and passed my cholesterol test. That was extremely important to me. I have been fighting high cholesterol for 15 years. I knew my cholesterol was diet driven but fixing it was hard. With the commitment I have made with myself and my personal trainer, I achieved my diet battle with cholesterol. My motivation to train at Alive has been strengthened due to my medical tests. Now, for the last 4 months I am still training 3 times a week but I am attending two classes a week and doing some extra work on my cardio. Achieving my goal is possible. My body is reflecting the commitment I have made. Wow, Alive has made a great change in my life. I feel I can maintain a good diet and exercise program, which I enjoy, because of a great supporting team at Alive."

"My wife first suggested Alive to me. It was actually more than a suggestion. She bought 50 sessions with a trainer and that was my introduction to Alive and the fitness programs available at the Alive facility. There have been many changes since I was first signed up. However, there are a number of constants that keep me coming back:

  1. The facility is close to home and I can be training in less than 5 minutes after awaking;
  2. The facility has a great compliment of equipment that is never in short supply;
  3. The staff are on the cutting edge of training and are knowledgeable of the latest developments in exercise.
There are three recent developments that fit my lifestyle and make a long term commitment to my training program easier and more enjoyable:
  1. The new membership program permits me to come in to train as often as I like and whenever my schedule allows;
  2. The new program also provides trainers with flexible schedules and has scheduled weekend hours;
  3. Most importantly, the new television system will allow me to watch golf and run on the treadmill at the same time (a perfect combination).
In conclusion, I want to thank the Alive team for helping me keep in shape for the New York Marathon and the London Marathon each year. I will be thinking about you this April as I pass Big Ben!"
